JEE Main 2021

From 2013 onward, the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) has been replaced by the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) or JEE (Main)as the common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs). The JEE (Main) 2013 was the first edition of this new exam format.

JEE (Main) is conducted by the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Apex Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs such as the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.). These courses are offered by the NITs, IITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions funded by several participating state governments and several other institutions.

For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs, whose admissions are based on the JEE Advanced/JEE Main ranks, they have to secure at least 75% marks class 12th examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks is 65% in the 12th class examination.

JEE Main Dates 2021

JEE (Main) 2021 scheduled to be conducted in Febryary,March,April,May. But April and May exam was postponed due to Covid 19. New dates will be announced soon.

The states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Odisha will also be accepting JEE (Main) 2021 scores instead of their state level examination score. Students from these states are advised to apply online for JEE (Main) 2020.

Mode of JEE (Main) Exam

The exam will be computer-based only and will be held through 334 centres across India and 12 centres abroad. 

3000 centres will be available for applicants for practice.

Note: Diabetic students can carry water in transparent water,, fruits and sugar tablets to the centre

The 2021 test consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates may take Paper 1, Paper 2 or both depending on the courses they're applying to.
